From the Pages of...Country Home, Fall 2018
Hot off the press! We are thrilled to share that Hound House is featured in the Fall 2018 Country Home magazine.
When Anna Molvik (producer) and Ellen McDermott (photographer) approached us with the opportunity for a layout in Country Home, we were all in! Ellen shot our feature for Connecticut Cottages & Gardens back in the Fall of 2016. She and her partner, Bridget Sciales, have become dear friends. They are uber-talented and beautifully capture both the essence of the house and the soul of Collin's design work. Immediately, we adored Anna and her assistant (and daughter), Oliva. They brought fresh perspectives and so much joy to the two-day photo shoot.
Shoots like these can be tedious because everyone is working hard to make sure everything is just right. While a room may look perfect in person, it may not translate the same way in a photo. So there is a great deal of rearranging, styling, and making the slightest of adjustments that make all the difference in the world in a photo. Our house is filled with beautiful, natural light which Ellen loves--there was a lot of chasing that light from room-to-room throughout the day as well. The final result is certainly a reflection of a team effort. The photos are gorgeous!
Not just pretty pictures...
It's great when the written copy is just as engaging as the imagery. Writer, Sarah Egge was an important member of the team! She worked diligently to tell our story and help bring the reader into Hound House. We spoke with her several times as she drafted and revised the piece. Sarah teased out small details about us and Collin's process to relay to the readers. We really couldn't be happier with how the story turned out.
We hope you will pick up a copy of Country Home and check out our story and the other beautiful homes featured. Click here to subscribe, or purchase an e-copy now.
